JYC Racers, despite our struggles with the tide/current today in setting our pin, the day was a great finish to the 2023 racing season. Thank you to all our racers and a special thank you to our great volunteers on race committee! Hopefully, we’ll see you all at the Installation & Awards Banquet on Saturday, 18 November. Invites will be out soon.

Racers and Race Committee,
Thanks to all those dedicated sailors and volunteers who came out in less than ideal conditions to join us for Race #4 of the Fall Series! After the bounce of last week, we had flat seas, but plenty of wind and rain and then the fog came in! We appreciate your dedication!!
See you out on the water next week for the last race of the season. Fingers crossed for good weather!

JYC Racers,
Thanks for sticking it out with the Race Committee today as we did our best to give you a Sunday race despite the fluky breeze, commercial traffic, threatening fog and threatening thunderstorms.
It was a first for RC to both change a course for one fleet and shorten the course, but we thought it best with the storm front threatening from the southwest.
Reminder for future: please have your radios on throughout the race as RC may contact you.
Hopefully, you all made it off the water safely and are watching the Patriots play now!

First 2023 Fall Race CANCELED

Well, it was a sad end to the Tuesday nights of our racing season with very little wind and strong tide once again. Thanks to all who came out for a try.  As announced prior to the start, we will now shift the remainder of the Fall Series to Sunday afternoons, September 10th – October 1st with the first Warning signal (Class A) at 1330. Our class splits for the Fall Series for those who weren’t out tonight, are as follows:

            Class A: Spinnaker <= PHRF-NB of 101.
            Class B: Spinnaker >= PHRF-NB of 102.
            Class C: Non-Spinnaker.

Summer ??? Series #2

Racers,

While I’m not sure it is really summer judging by our temps lately, we’re at race #2 in the series.
I’d like to thank all of our competitors for staying clear of our Tuesday evening commercial traffic. It is very much appreciated to keep our series running.
Also, as a reminder, please do NOT recross the finish line after finishing. This evening was difficult to see other finishers due to a few recross incidents. Race Committee will be protesting violators in the future.
And last item, we have been invited to join CYC after racing when they will be serving up the same grill menu we saw at the JYC/CYC mixer. This will be available to us for our entire summer series and 1st fall series race. However, it is not available on 4th of July for our Crew Rotation Race due to a member event that evening.
